But the Porpoise is Waving Goodbye Goodbyyyeeee

Hey, Macketeers,

So I’ve been quiet the past few days. So sue me.

Well, okay, maybe not. After all, I am pretty broke. Blood from a stone and all that.

I meant to continue the serial fiction article, but frankly, I’ve been sidetracked by other concerns. Mostly about selling CDs…

…but also with my local neighbourhood association. It’s not been good. I’ve been pretty busy with things, so I haven’t been able to make friends with all the right people, it seems, and now there is a backlash for a few of the activities my wife and I were involved in, because we haven’t had enough approval from the right association members. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions as to whether I actually deserve to be treated like a leper in a neighbourhood I’ve lived in for eighteen years, but I for one am tired of the whole scenario, and am having trouble giving a damn today.

Which is unfortunate, because today is executive election day. Two of my friends are seeking certain posts, so I’m going along to vote for them, but I’ve got a good mind to quit, even though it means letting those who are precious about who does what in the association have their way. I’m cussed enough to stick around just to infuriate them, but it’s not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s not right. They think I’m trying to stir up drama, when it’s clearly them who are overreacting. *sigh*

In other news, I’m back to work on The Back Roads of Limbo, so don’t say you weren’t warned. I also have other fiction coming out in dribs and drabs, so expect a follow-up or two in the not-too-distant future.

And design work on the Tarot painting series continues as well. I’d like to have the first few water colour paintings done by Christmas, but there’s just no telling. I’m still trying to get the thumbnails done, but I’ve already started plotting the lines of the first card (Fool) onto water colour paper. The water colours, as mentioned previously, will be a dry run for the eventual acrylic paintings, which I hope to sell for good money, some time next year in a proper show, if I can arrange one.

Thinking my previous involvement with the mural project may not survive the new year, but I’m still deliberating. I want to paint those walls. I just don’t know if the association will ever let me. Twelve applicants submitted back when there wasn’t really enough money, so there’s no telling what a few thousand more in the pot will reel in. I wish I knew what they’d actually thought of my initial submission, aside from the fact that it wasn’t finished (I figure they got a lot of that sort of thing). It would be nice to know if I have to finish the drawing or just start with a new concept. I can submit up to three ideas, so I’m considering doing two more drawings anyway. I’m just not sure what to do about the original concept, which I still think is the most appropriate idea I can come up with.

Well, that’s five things. Time to get showered, get dressed and get some work done. Have a great day, folks.

Don't be shy. Tell me what you really think, now.
