I Need a Remedy for What is Ailing Me

This is going to have to be a short one, my Macketeers. Uncle Eddie has a nasty headache that is making him want to kill people with a rusty grapefruit spoon.

My agent may have just invented a new internet term: StabBooking. She’s currently fighting with her older brother, who is being a rather monumental douche bag with friends and family.

I’m playing The Black Crowes again today. I was playing Train’s last album as well. Let’s see how many people get misdirected to my blog again today.

Pursuant to that, let’s have some fun. I once wrote a song called ‘Show Me Something‘. It was while I was heavily indoctrinating myself with music like the Crowes, and though I never copied them too closely, this one song was fairly strongly influenced by one or two Crowes tracks. Let’s see if you can guess which one was the strongest. Reply below if you get the song. If you get it right, I’ll send you a free copy of one of my novels in ebook format.

Thinking about it, one of the things I like about Pat (Train) Monahan’s lyrics is that he crams a lot of words in there, the way I do. Surprising it took me this long to figure that out.

I should also say that, if you like whisky soaked, sex-addled rock ‘n’ roll stories, I wrote a novel called Terminal Monday, under my given name (Don’t look at me like that; You should know by now that this is a pen name of mine, dammit!). It’s a heavy piece, but it’s probably perfect for fans of The Black Crowes, amongst other decadent types. If you’re one of those people who prefer Treeware, I’ll let you know if and when I work out how to get a 260,000 word novel printed in trade format.

I have, as I mentioned, a killer headache. I also have to draw a full layout sketch of the cover for The Bride of War, so my artist friend can make something unbelievably gorgeous for me. The former may make the latter difficult. We’ll see. Time to make the donuts.

Eddie.

Don't be shy. Tell me what you really think, now.
