Like The Dust That Settles All Around Me

I’ve spent the better part of the afternoon going over ideas for a book cover, and I think we’ve almost settled on something really special. But it all hangs on how well the illustration comes out. The designer I’m using has some illustration chops, but this may be outside of his abilities. When I’ve got something worth looking at, I’ll see if I can’t get permission from the publisher to show it.

Heh heh.

I find myself amused by an image I just saw floating around Facebook this afternoon; a cat macro that reads as follows: When I want your opinion, I’ll remove the duct tape. I don’t know why that amuses me so much right now. Maybe I’m a little irritable today or something.

I’m listening to the Genesis Platinum Collection, which is a pretty nice overview of their career, despite it doing what modern Genesis always does, which is pushes the classic oldies from the 70s back as far as they dare. It’s a funny dichotomy that I’m sure they’re all happy to finally have behind them for good.

Yes, I’m one of those fans who has reconciled himself to the fairly obvious truth that Peter is never going to play with Mike or Tony again, Phil is never coming out of retirement, and thus, we will never see that reunion tour they were talking about back before the 2007 reunion tour that I DID get to see with Darryl and Chester back in harness with the classic trio. Great show. Wonderful.

But let’s be fair and admit it here: what the world actually needs to see (before they start dropping off) is a reunion of the classic five piece with Peter and Steve. I’d even like to see Ant make some sort of contribution, but I suspect he’s no more over his stage fright than he was as a young man. But seriously, there’s a hole in my rock concert DVD collection, and only a proper reunion tour of classic Genesis can fill that hole. Better hurry up, guys.

Suddenly in the mood to go curl up and watch some rock music on the telly. Gonna sign off now. Thanks for reading.

Eddie.

Don't be shy. Tell me what you really think, now.
