The Clock Is Ticking

One week until Gary has to take a break from recording for medical reasons. He probably won’t be back at it until the end of the month or perhaps the beginning of December.

This presents a bit of a problem, as I’m hoping to have the new Thesis demo album recorded in time for Christmas. The cut off date sort of has to be mid-December, so I can make sure that certain people get a disc before Christmas. I’d like to avoid the problems I usually do with my infamous Christmas card series.

Ah well. I can’t rightly blame this on Gary’s surgery. Fact is, it’s taken me years to get back into harness and get working like this, and now that I’m doing it, I’m raring to go and not really being very sensitive to other people’s feelings. It’s not Gary’s fault that his job is doing him serious physical harm. If anything, it’s my fault for not getting us onto a proper musical career path back when we were young enough to do all of this without sweating it.

So really, I owe certain people apologies, including Gary and my wife, Dawn, who have put up with a lot of crap in the last month or thereabouts.

That said, I really do hope to have the album ready for Christmas, come what may. I just hope I don’t write too many more parts Gary and I are going to have trouble performing ourselves. I’m working so fast right now that a lot of stuff is going undocumented, like chord shapes and changes and note melodies that need to be repeated or perfected. It’s a lot to keep in my head, and I’m starting to slow down again. I need to be a fair bit more rigorous from here on in if I want to do this right.

Alright, gotta get back to work. Haven’t posted a song in days. Feel like I’ve been slacking horrendously, even though I’ve been debating whether to post any more demos.

Lee.

Don't be shy. Tell me what you really think, now.
